My name is Bonny Hobby and I’m a visual artist and educator based in coastal Georgia. My work grows from observation, from watching how the shoreline shifts with the tide, how expression settles into a face, how animals carry presence without needing words.

I paint and draw original artwork and create custom portraits of people and animals, focusing less on perfection and more on feeling.

Photography became part of my process because I wanted my work to come from my own way of seeing. I began photographing the coast so my art could be built from moments I experienced firsthand. I felt this kept my work original. Through the lens, I study light, movement, and atmosphere as they unfold naturally. What began as reference material for my paintings became meaningful in its own right, and I now offer fine art prints of my original photography alongside my artwork.

I sell original works as well as prints of my custom art, allowing each piece to live in more than one space while still keeping its meaning intact.

Being an educator shapes everything I do. Teaching keeps me rooted in curiosity and reminds me why art matters, not as something to perfect, but as something to feel and share. Whether I’m painting, drawing, or behind the camera, my intention is always the same, to create work that feels calm, human, and deeply connected.
